Women for Positive Communication (WPC) was founded in March 1982 by a group of professional women employed at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company (LMSC). These Women shared a mutual interest in career concerns and giving back to the community through community service programs.
The purpose of WPC is to provide community services, food and care baskets, scholarships and youth mentoring programs.
MISSION STATEMENT: "Women for Positive Communication (WPC) is a nonprofit community based service organization. Our mission is to provide food and care baskets to low-income families throughout the Santa Clara County, Alameda County, and San Francisco Bay Area. WPC also provides excellence in education by helping disadvantage low income high school senior students attend college and hosting youth mentoring programs. WPC accomplishes this goal by hosting annual fundraising events and securing grants from corporations and other organizations. WPC strives to be a positive influence in a diverse community".
WPC professional members both male and female, give back to our community by providing community outreach programs, scholarships, and by partnering with other Bay Area Community based organizations to help make a difference. WPC considers it's members to be a distinguished group of highly motivated and highly energized individuals who diligently volunteer their time, energy, and services to make a difference in their community.
